Cool Kid Andrew Horan lends helping hand to local church food bank

GLENDORA, Calif. (KABC) -- Our ABC7 Cool Kid for Thursday, Feb. 4, is Andrew Horan, who volunteers at a Glendora church's clothing and food bank.

Andrew works with kids and others volunteering at Grace Church. He wanted to make a difference and had an idea to make the clothing area look more like a store and to provide a better experience.

"I saw like a lot of disorganization and then I'm like, 'Oh yeah, I could do this to make this better,' and that's kind of where the project started going on," he said.

He added shelves to place folded clothes and other items and rods to hold items up.

Once the project was done, Andrew saw how it affected people who came to the church for a helping hand.

"I'll go in there while they're open and seeing the people come in...they're able to find things and have an easier time," he said.

Life can be difficult and challenging for many, but Andrew found out seeing things from a different perspective can really make a difference.
