Cool Kid Skyla Byers lends helping hand to those in need

MONROVIA, Calif. (KABC) -- Our ABC7 Cool Kid for Thursday, Dec. 17, is Skyla Byers who volunteers at Foothill Utility Center, putting together and distributing care packages for those in need.

She appreciates what many of us take for granted and she's especially aware of what others don't have.

"I really enjoy helping people and I really like looking at them smile and watching them really enjoy something that would never have happened if this company were not here," she said.

Skyla has been volunteering since was 11-years-old. She knows that her work can be life-changing.

"Maybe they're really starving and they really need the food, so for me to actually give them the food knowing that they're going to be able to survive off that food is really good," she said.

She lends a helping hand and heart to make sure those who need it can have some love, too.
