EASTVALE, Calif. (KABC) -- Being married to a law enforcement officer is stressful enough, but after a recent series of police shootings across the country, it's become even tougher.

That's why groups like Eastvale's WOLFF have become an increasingly important means of emotional support.

Wives of Law Enforcement and Fire Fighters has been holding vigils and other community events to honor officers who have been killed in the line of duty.

It also provides emotional support to women like Genine Liberty, who is married to a CHP officer. Just saying goodbye to her husband every morning is excruciating.

"It's just a really hard time right now," she said.

The group's events include placing of flags to honor officers and firefighters who have died in the line of duty.

The most recent event was a Sunday night candlelight vigil to show support for law enforcement.
