Eye on L.A. explores the city for locally made treasures
Eye on L.A. takes a look at the local treasures made right here in Los Angeles, which includes items, food and entertainment.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Eye on L.A. is always looking for great stuff that's made in L.A., and this time, they've found a fashion trend that's hot. We've got SpiritHoods, great art from the cardboard artist Calder Greenwood and from glassblowing extraordinaire Cheryl Saban, and yummy snacks from People's Jerky, Spread the Love Peanut Butter and Joy & Sweets.[br /][br /]We also hit up the Arts District Brewery & Skeeball for some fun, and stop by the latest Cavalia show in Irvine, Morongo Casino Resort and Hadley's Orchards for more![br /][br /]CARDBOARD ARTIST[br /]We first heard about him in the documentary "The Cardboard Artist," whose studio is in Downtown L.A. From a giant spider to a wizard, you could run into his amazing pieces of art where and when you least expect it. That's exactly how it happened for local couple Valerie and Zach Fishbain when their wedding favors became their calling card. Now they're making their all-natural peanut butter, which can be found in specialty stores and more. www.spreadthelovepb.com[br /][br /]JOY & SWEETS[br /]Going gluten-free started an adventure into baking that took two local sisters Amanda and Emily Campbell from local farmers markets to their own bakery shop in Culver City. Now they have macarons, cupcakes and more. www.joyandsweets.com[br /][br /]MORONGO CASINO & HADLEY'S ORCHARDS[br /]Hadley's has been around since 1931, and if you've ever driven to Palm Springs, you know exactly where they are. They just remodeled, but they still have all the delicious dried fruits, chocolates (non-GMO) and, of course, date shakes! But they also have fresh baked breads and a deli serving up yummy sandwiches. www.hadleyfruitorchards.com[br /][Ads /][br /]We had to stop by and see our friends next door at Morongo Casino Resort & Spa while we were at Hadley's. Lucky for us, they showed us their new High Limit Room and we got a lesson in Macau Style Squeeze Bacarat. You can order from their specialty tea room or from their long list of high-end cognacs and brandies, and even order food to enjoy tableside while you play! www.morongocasinoresort.com[br /][br /]CAVALIA [br /]It's been seven years since the enchanting equestrian performers of Cavalia captivated L.A. audiences, but now they're back with a show that's more magical then ever! Odysseo is a must-see, playing now through March 13.
