MURRIETA, Calif. (KABC) -- Family and friends bid a final farewell to fallen Marine Sgt. Eric Seaman, who died while trying to help others in need.

The 30-year-old died last month in a helicopter crash in Nepal. He was one of six U.S. Marines killed on their way to deliver relief supplies to the earthquake victims.

He leaves behind two young children and a wife, who was summoning her strength to say goodbye.

"I still can't believe you chose me, but I'm incredibly thankful you allowed me to be your wife, your best friend and most importantly, that you allowed me to be the mother of our two beautiful children," Samantha Seaman said at the memorial.

Earlier this week, throngs of supporters lined the streets of Murrieta for Seaman's homecoming procession.

On Friday, people celebrated his heroic life and legacy of service.

Seaman had been a Marine since 2009 and was the recipient of half a dozen military medals.
