Fans get free 'Guardians of the Galaxy' haircuts in WeHo

WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (KABC) -- Beauty may be in the eyes of the beholder, but fashion was in the hands of the Guardians Tuesday.

Dozens of Guardians of the Galaxy fans lined up outside Shorty's Barbershop in West Hollywood for a shot at free Yondu hairstyles.

Ten lucky fans, both male and female, were chosen to receive actual red-dyed, mohawk haircuts resembling the look of the Yondu character.

Actor Michael Rooker, who played Yondu in both Guardian movies, not only showed up to meet with fans, but also grabbed a pair of clippers and helped carve out a mohawk on Jessica McCarthy of Glendale.

"I don't think anyone else in this world can say they got their head shaved by Michael Rooker," McCarthy told Eyewitness News. "Let me just put that on my resume."
