Fundraiser held for injured Orange officer
A fundraiser to help pay for medical expenses was held for an Orange police officer and veteran, Sharif Muzayen, after he was struck by a suspected drunk driver.

ORANGE, Calif. (KABC) -- A veterans group held a fundraiser for the family of an Orange police officer and Marine veteran, Sharif Muzayen, who has undergone several surgeries after being struck by a suspected drunk driver.

More than 300 people gathered to help pay for medical expenses, including the mother of the 27-year-old woman charged with the DUI.

Though the officer's wife, Vanessa Muzayen, said he continues to improve, doctor's said he will need to spend at least one month in the hospital.
