LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Dozens of altars celebrating Dia de los Muertos will be on display at Grand Park in Los Angeles this weekend.

In fact, 50 colorful altars honoring those who have died will be available for viewing, according to event organizers.

Local artists, community groups, students and political leaders crafted the displays, which highlight subjects ranging from personal stories to immigration reform.

Among those who contributed altars are Mayor Eric Garcetti, LA County Supervisor Gloria Molina and Councilman Jose Huizar.

The event happens Saturday and is free to the public.
