NorCal grandmother skydives for her 80th birthday

STOCKTON, Calif. (KABC) -- A Northern California grandmother chose to celebrate a milestone birthday by jumping out of an airplane.

Ann New turned 80 last week, and she marked the milestone by skydiving up near Stockton. She said she was a little nervous at first, but said the butterflies went away as soon as she hit the skies.

"It was cold and then all of the sudden it was just so peaceful. Beautiful. I loved it. I had such a good time," she told ABC affiliate KXTV.

New said her great-granddaughter and grandson jumped before her so she didn't have to go first.

She said she had such a good time she wants to jump again on her 90th birthday.
