Named Shabani, the gorilla at the Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens in Nagoya, Japan has become an internet sensation, with reports of 100 admirers regularly crowding his exhibit, according to CNN.
He's a very distinguished and sophisticated gorilla. The Gregory Peck of gorillas, if you will. #Shabani— Trick E. Rourke (@gingerkiller) June 25, 2015
The 18-year-old Shabani already has two wives, Ai and Nene, and has been a very good father to his children Kiyomasi and Annie, Takayushi Ishikawa, a zoo spokesperson, told CNN.
The gorilla seems to be enjoying the new attention.
"He seems to have noticed his new popularity, but he's kept it very cool," Ishikawa said.
