A man who hit rock bottom and then turned his life around stood outside of a Lakewood Walmart on Christmas Eve collecting donations for the Salvation Army for 24 hours.

LAKEWOOD, Calif. (KABC) -- A man who hit rock bottom and then turned his life around stood outside of a Walmart in Lakewood on Christmas Eve collecting donations for the Salvation Army for 24 hours.

Joey Buico decided to do the challenge to thank the Salvation Army for helping him get his life back on track. The New York native said he was addicted to drugs, underweight and living in his car, but now he's a personal trainer.
