Thousands flock to fireworks, Prince tribute in Expo Park
Thousands of people flocked to Exposition Park Monday night to see one of the longest and largest fireworks shows in California, an event that included a tribute to Prince this year.

EXPOSITION PARK, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Thousands of people flocked to Exposition Park Monday night to see one of the longest and largest fireworks shows in California.

This year's event at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum also paid tribute to Prince, with purple fireworks exploding to "Purple Rain."

Families flocked to the event hours ahead of the actual 30-minute fireworks show to enjoy food and games that are part of a three-day festival that started Saturday.

The event typically gets about 20,000 people a year.
