Man fatally shot at baseball field in South Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A man was shot and killed at a baseball field in South Los Angeles Monday night, police said.

Police found the man suffering from a gunshot wound to the back in the dugout of a baseball field near E. 54th Street and Compton Avenue at about 11 p.m.

He was transported to L.A. County-USC Medical Center and later pronounced dead. The victim, described as a man in his 40s, has not been identified pending notification of kin.

A description of the suspected shooters was not immediately released. Anyone with further information was asked to contact the Los Angeles Police Department.
