IRVINE, Calif. (KABC) -- Two sub-contractors working on a Southern California Edison project were in critical condition after suffering a severe electric shock on the job in Irvine.
Firefighters said the men, both in their mid-20s, were using jackhammers near the intersection of Michelson Drive and Harvard Avenue around 10 p.m. Friday when their equipment struck high-voltage underground cables.
Both men suffered burns on their hands and faces.
The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health was investigating the incident.
