Last Negro League umpire dies at 94
The last Negro League umpire, Bob Motley, has died.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The last Negro League umpire, Bob Motley, has died. He was 94 years old.

Motley's son posted on Facebook saying his father passed away peacefully yesterday.

Motley umpired Negro League games for 13 seasons.

The only surviving umpire from baseball's old Negro League will receive a special honor from the Los Angeles Dodgers this week.

Motley's son said of his father, "We could all use lessons from his life as he lived his with a whole lot of love, grace, dignity, passion and humor."

Motley was honored at a Dodgers game last month.
