LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A huge light installation Friday night marked every mile of the Los Angeles Marathon.

The display began at about 8:40 p.m. and lasted until 10:15 p.m. The lights served as a reminder for which roads to avoid Sunday morning before the race.

The course begins at Dodger Stadium and weaves through city streets to Santa Monica.

Sponsor ASICS created the large spotlight installation with 124 spotlights, which is the equivalent of 29,100 light bulbs, to celebrate the 30th year of the race.
