Narbonne girls' basketball team removed from playoffs for illegal uniforms
The Narbonne High School girls' basketball team was forced to forfeit its 57-52 semifinal win against View Park Saturday after the team wore illegal uniforms.

HARBOR CITY, Calif. (KABC) -- The top-seeded Narbonne High School girls' basketball team was forced to forfeit its 57-52 semifinal win against View Park Saturday after the team wore pink letters and numbers on their jerseys in support of breast cancer awareness.

The decision was made by the Los Angeles City Section Monday.

"Uniform colors may only be a combination of the official school colors. Pink is not a school color at Narbonne. Penalties will include probation and forfeiture of contents," the California Interscholastic Federation said in a statement.

The school is appealing the decision in hopes of playing in the championship game Saturday.
