LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A plane carrying the Los Angeles Dodgers was diverted to Los Angeles International Airport Sunday after mechanical issues were reported, a team spokesman confirmed.

The team had departed from San Diego for Dallas on a United Airlines charter flight when the issue was reported at about 8 p.m.

The plane landed at LAX without incident, according to FAA officials. Los Angeles firefighters were on standby.

The teams was switching planes, a Dodgers spokesman said.

Dodgers infielder Justin Turner posted a photo on Instagram with the caption: "Our stabilizer goes out on the plane. Emergency landed in #LA and now it's gonna be a long night! #NotSoHappyFlight."
