ENCINO, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The heat didn't slow down athletes on the fifth day of the Special Olympics World Games. Despite the high temperatures, events continued Wednesday across Los Angeles County.

Officials urged spectators to take precautions and keep a close eye on competitors.

During the soccer games, athletes took multiple rest and water breaks. If an athlete got a little overheated, the medical team stepped in quickly.
