Todd Gurley on Rams fans, living in LA, and his favorite actor
In an interview with ABC7's Rob Fukuzaki, Rams running back Todd Gurley talked about his appreciation for fans' support, living in Los Angeles, and his favorite actor.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Before the Rams set out for the East Coast and their upcoming game against the New England Patriots, running back Todd Gurley sat down with ABC7's Rob Fukuzaki for a wide-ranging discussion.

Asked what he likes to do in Los Angeles, the Pro Bowler replied: "I'm a really boring person, but there's a lot do here. You've got football, basketball, baseball, even hockey, and the beach. Once the offseason comes around, (I) just kind of go around, sightsee, might go to the beach or something like that."

On the day of the interview, Gurley participated in a surprise meet-and-greet with fans at a Carl's Jr. restaurant in Simi Valley.

"We definitely appreciate all the fans that come to the game," Gurley said. "It might not have been the best season but they still come, they're showing support, so we always appreciate that."

And what was it like to see pop singer Britney Spears on the sidelines of a recent practice?

"It was funny," Gurley said. "The next thing I know, I see my teammate taking a picture with her that she actually knew from like five years ago. So I'm like, man, that's funny."

One might wonder if Gurley, who has appeared in the documentary series "Hard Knocks" and in commercials, has any ambitions of becoming an actor.

"Nah, man," he said with a smile. "I'm just playing football. If that opportunity comes, I'll see. Other than that, I'm just here to play some ball."

He noted that his favorite actor is Denzel Washington, but demurred at the possibility of ever acting alongside the Oscar winner, saying Washington is "too big-time."

"I've got to work my way up to even get that way," Gurley said.

He also described something special for Los Angeles-area fans.

"Starting next week (Dec. 11), if I score a touchdown, you get buy one, get one free on the California Classic Cheeseburger" at Carl's Jr, Gurley said. "So it's my challenge to go out there and start scoring some touchdowns. So every Sunday you can get that."

The Carl's Jr. buy one, get one free offer starts with the Rams' home game against the Atlanta Falcons on December 11, 2016. The promotion continues through Jan. 1, 2017. Please see Carl's Jr.'s Facebook page for restrictions and further details.
