COMPTON, Calif. (KABC) -- A stolen vehicle suspect led authorities on a chase through various freeways, cities and neighborhoods in Los Angeles Monday night.

The chase started around 7 p.m. and originated in Compton. Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies spotted the stolen car and a chase ensued.

The female suspect went through surface streets, at first following traffic signals, and then on to the 405 Freeway. She eventually turned around and headed back to Compton, suddenly following traffic laws and street signals again for a short time.

When the suspect began heading through Maywood, authorities attempted two pit maneuvers, but failed to stop her.

After an hour and a half, she suddenly stopped the vehicle in the Compton area, fleeing on foot. Witnesses said the woman ran around in circles, even attempting to get into a home.

Authorities quickly found the woman, took her down with a Taser and placed her in handcuffs.

She faces several charges and was taken to a hospital for an evaluation after the ordeal.
