Strong winds pummel big rig on I-15 in the IE

FONTANA, Calif. -- Extremely strong winds ripped through the Inland Empire, pummeling a big rig in its path on Interstate 15 near Fontana Tuesday morning.

The California Highway Patrol said heavy winds rolled the truck to its side and left it dangling over the railing near the westbound lane of Interstate 210.

Crews worked on removing the big rig from the freeway as the eastbound lanes of Interstate 210 were temporarily shut down in case the big rig fell over.

Officials said the driver suffered minor injuries.
