LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Rap mogul Suge Knight was released from Long Beach Memorial Medical Center Wednesday night and transferred back to the Men's Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles.

Knight, 49, was hospitalized Tuesday after experiencing chest pain while in court for a deadly hit-and-run crash in Compton.

The Death Row Records founder is accused of intentionally running over two men with a pickup truck last Thursday following an argument in the parking lot of a Tam's Burgers in the 1200 block of West Rosecrans Avenue.

The incident was seen by a passerby, who called 911.

"This car ran over two guys who were fighting, and then, um, he just pulled back and pulled forward and run them over. Two guys are laying down," the witness told dispatchers, according to a 911 call obtained by the New York Daily News.

Terry Carter, 55, was killed, and actor Cle Shaheed "Bone" Sloan, 51, was injured.

Knight's lawyer says the incident was an accident, and Knight was trying to flee after being attacked.

Knight pleaded not guilty to one count of murder, one count of attempted murder and two counts of hit-and-run, with an allegation that he committed a serious and violent felony while out on bail in another pending case.

He is scheduled to return to court on Monday for a bail review hearing, and a preliminary hearing was set for Feb. 19.
