Consumer Reports reviews this year's lightweight laptops

For consumers looking to lighten their loads, there are several ultra lightweight laptops on the market. Consumer Reports tested computers from prominent brands such as Apple, Lenovo and Samsung for portability, battery life and price.

"These ultra lightweights did really well in our performance tests, and they also did really well in our portability tests," said Richard Fisco of Consumer Reports. "And if you take your laptop with you frequently in a backpack or some kind of carrying case, you'll notice the difference, even if it's only a few ounces."
