MONTEREY PARK, Calif. (KABC) -- Only one lane of the southbound 710 Freeway is expected to be open in the Monterey Park area throughout the weekend for road work.

Caltrans announced the partial closure will take place between the 10 and 60 freeways. The connector ramps from the 10 Freeway to the 710 South will also be closed.

The closure took effect at 10 p.m. Friday night and is scheduled to remain until 5 a.m. Monday.

The work is part of a $120 million pavement replacement project on the 710 Freeway between the 105 and 10 freeways. The project, which began in August 2012, is scheduled to be completed this year.
