UCLA student struck during strong arm robbery in Westwood

WESTWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A UCLA student was struck early Friday morning after refusing to give a man money in Westwood.

The suspect approached the victim shortly before 6 a.m. asking for money. When the student refused, the man lashed out.

The suspect fled southbound on Levering Avenue and ran east on Strathmore Avenue.

He was described as in his late-20s, 5 feet 8 inches and 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt, blue jeans and wearing glasses.

An investigation was underway. Anyone with information is asked to call the UCLA Police Department at (310) 825-1491.
