UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. (KABC) -- Universal Studios Hollywood announced it's raising the price for its annual passes to the theme park.

New annual passes for California residents are either $139 or $199, depending on the number of blackout dates.

The $139 pass allows 182 days of access to the park and the $199 pass allows 244 days.

The gold pass, which has no residency requirements and allows 312 days at the park, is now $299.

A 2015 value pass with blackout dates was $119.

Prices changed as the park prepares to launch its new Harry Potter attraction in the spring.

The new annual passes come with exclusive benefits like the chance to enter special contests, invitations to movie premieres and discounts on food and merchandise.

The price of a one-day Universal Studios Hollywood ticket will remain at $95.
