Woman caught on video stealing Christmas lights from Upland home

UPLAND, Calif. (KABC) -- The search is on for the scrooge who stole an elaborate holiday light display from an Upland home.

Resident Ken Byrne's pricey reflecting lights were ripped off by a woman right from his front yard on Dec. 1.

But what the crook didn't know was that her holiday heist was all caught on camera. In the footage, the woman is seen wearing sweats and talking on her cellphone.

"Too many people are stealing packages, stealing lights. I think it's ridiculous at Christmas," Byrne said.

Byrne ordered new lights and says this time, he'll bolt them down. Upland police said the suspect was driving a silver van.
