VENTURA, Calif. (KABC) -- Ventura police are searching for a 29-year-old man suspected of shooting two people inside a home.

Around 8:30 a.m., authorities received a 911 call from a 20-year-old woman who reported she had been shot in a home in the 1600 block of Tapir Court.

When officers arrived, the woman was found suffering from multiple life-threatening gunshot wounds. She was taken to Ventura County Medical Center and admitted into emergency surgery. Her condition is unknown.

Police also found a 47-year-old man dead from a gunshot wound. Another woman and a 16-month-old child were found in the home unharmed.

Authorities are looking for Brandon Ellis, a white man standing 6 feet tall, weighing about 200 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes. He is possibly driving a yellow Penske box truck. Police believe he is armed and dangerous.

Both victims sustained several gunshot wounds to the upper body, police said. Neighbors believe the injured woman was dating the son of the man who was killed. They also believe the suspect may be an ex-boyfriend, but authorities would not say how Ellis is connected to the victims.

The investigation was ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Ventura Police Department at (805) 339-4416.
