13-year-old boy airlifted after being struck by hit-and-run driver in Victorville

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (KABC) -- A 13-year-old boy was struck by a hit-and-run driver Thursday evening while riding his bike near a park in Victorville, authorities said.

The child was airlifted to a hospital in unknown condition after the crash, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

The collision happened at about 7:19 p.m. at the intersection of Center and Lacy streets, just southwest of Center Street Park, a sheriff's spokesperson said.

The driver of a tan or white van fled the scene, investigators said.

No other information was immediately available.
