BELLFLOWER, Calif. (KABC) -- A car plowed into a crowd in Bellflower after losing control while apparently doing "doughnuts" in an area parking lot.

Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies received a report about possible illegal street racing and reckless driving at a Kmart parking lot in the 10400 block of Rosecrans Avenue at around 9:45 p.m. Saturday.

When deputies from the Lakewood Station arrived on scene, they found a large number of people and cars loitering in the parking lot, officials said.

Upon investigation, deputies found no evidence of a collision or any injuries. The group was dispersed without further incident.

The next morning at around 10:20 a.m., sheriff's deputies received video depicting a vehicle losing control while performing "doughnuts" and crashing into a group of spectators.

The car involved in the crash was a white Ford Mustang with a tan soft top roof, and the incident appeared to have occurred in the same Kmart parking lot where deputies responded to the night before.

No arrests were made on the night of the incident, but sheriff's officials said detectives will investigate the incident and prosecute those involved.

Sheriff's officials reminded the public that performing such stunts is illegal and highly dangerous for drivers as well as the spectators who show up to watch.
