LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Walmart will hire more than 3,200 seasonal workers in California for the upcoming holiday season.

Officials with the company said the retail giant will employ 60,000 seasonal workers nationwide.

Seasonal positions include sales associates, cashiers and stockers. Some of those positions will be transitioned into full-time permanent jobs after the holidays.

The company currently employs about 90,000 workers in 302 stores in the Golden State.

Walmart will also offer price cuts and weekend only sales deals as it looks to cash in on the holiday season, which typically accounts for about 20 percent of the retail industry's annual sales.
