MARYSVILLE, Wash. (KABC) -- A third student in the Washington school shooting died Sunday night, hospital officials announced.
Student Gia Soriano was 14, officials at Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett, Washington, said at a news conference. Soriano was wounded in the shooting at Marysville-Pilchuck High School on Friday.
The shooter, identified as freshman Jaylen Fryberg, opened fire in the school's cafeteria, killing 14-year-old Zoe Galasso before turning the gun on himself.
In a statement read at the hospital, the Soriano family remembered Gia, thanked doctors, and asked for privacy.
"We are devastated by this senseless tragedy. Gia is our beautiful daughter and words cannot express how much we will miss her," the family said.
The Soriano family also said they have decided to donate the teen's organs to honor her life.
Three other students remain hospitalized. Shaylee Chuckulnaskit, 14, and Andrew Fryberg, 15, are in critical condition. Nate Hatch, 14, is in serious condition.
Jaylen Fryberg played on the school football team and was recently crowned as a Homecoming prince.
A community meeting was held at the school's gym on Sunday, where speakers urged support and prayers and tribal members playing drums and singing songs. Jaylen Fryberg was from a prominent Tulalip Indian family.
Marysville-Pilchuck High School is located about 30 miles north of Seattle.
