HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- More than 100 people who were caught in the strong rip currents were rescued by lifeguards in Huntington Beach Monday.

The treacherous swells and dangerous rip currents brought massive waves to the popular surf spot The Wedge in Orange County.

Even experienced surfers were having trouble handling the churning waters. Many spectators and photographers lined the shore to get photos of the huge surf, which was caused by Hurricane Linda.
