Investigators canceled the Amber Alert issued for Bradley Nicolas just after 1:30 p.m. They said he was located and the suspect, a man they identified as Julio Ramirez, has since been placed into custody.
The nature of their relationship was not given.
Earlier, CHP said the man and child were believed to be in a silver 2000 Dodge Caravan with the California license plate 5MNN010.
Details surrounding the child's condition or the man's detainment were not immediately released.
