Amber Alert canceled: 2 children found safe, father arrested after alleged abduction in IE

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (KABC) -- An Amber Alert that was issued Sunday morning for two children, ages 6 and 2, has been canceled after authorities say their father abducted them in Riverside County.

Lilianna and Elias Acosta were taken by their father early Sunday morning in Riverside, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The alert was issued around 5 a.m. and by 9 a.m., authorities said the children were found unharmed in San Bernardino. Authorities say an off-duty deputy recognized the suspect vehicle.

The children were being reunited with their mother and the suspect father, Frank Acosta-Ortega, was arrested. The 27-year-old had been considered armed and dangerous.
