Crews battling brush fire burning near Big Bear in San Bernardino County

BIG BEAR, Calif. (KABC) -- Fire crews are battling a brush fire burning east of Big Bear from the ground and from the air.

The fire broke out in the Cactus Flats area Saturday. So far at least 35 acres have burned, and the fire has a moderate rate of spread, according to officials.

The Cactus Flats OHV staging area, and Forest Road 3N03 are closed due to the fire.

Officials say firefighters are making good progress on the blaze, and is 80% contained as of Saturday night.

No structures are threatened and no evacuations have been ordered.

No further details were immediately known. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
