Preliminary-magnitude 3.0 earthquake rattles Big Bear, USGS says

BIG BEAR LAKE, Calif. (KABC) -- A preliminary-magnitude 3.0 earthquake shook the Big Bear area on Thursday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The shallow quake, which struck at 7:54 a.m., was centered four miles east of Big Bear Lake and 27 miles east-northeast of San Bernardino, the USGS said.

Its depth was measured at just over half a mile.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
