SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KABC) -- A bill to put health warnings on soda and sugary drinks is advancing in California.

Lawmakers voted to pass a bill hoping to reduce soda consumption by requiring health labels on sugary drinks.

The labels would be similar to those on cigarette cartons, but will have warnings on obesity, diabetes and tooth decay.
