Mexican company using cactus puree to produce biofuel

Thursday, March 21, 2019
A company in Mexico is using an unlikely source of energy to produce biofuel.

Clean energy company NopaliMex is harnessing the power of the prickly pear cactus.

The company purees the cacti and mixes them with manure. The mixture then decomposes -- producing methane.

The company has tested the methane mixture in vehicles -- with great success.
