AIR7 HD was over the pursuit just before 10:20 p.m. as the suspect was driving on the 5 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley.
The driver then transitioned onto the 110 Freeway and went through the northeast area of Los Angeles. Authorities eventually abandoned the chase in the Adams-Normandie neighborhood as the suspect drove on surface streets.
It's unknown if the suspect was later apprehended by law enforcement.
Los Angeles police chased the white Kia Sol vehicle, but the California Highway Patrol later took control for the majority of the pursuit.
During the chase, the suspect drove at speeds ranging from 55 to 75 mph, and there was at least one instance when the driver turned into oncoming traffic on surface streets.
The chase began just south of downtown L.A. on the 110.
