CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. (KABC) -- Los Angeles County sheriff's detectives are looking for suspects in the shooting death of a woman outside her job in the City of Industry Monday night.

Deputies responded to a gunshot victim call at about 10:30 p.m. at a shopping center in the 17600 block of Castleton Street. When they arrived, they found a woman who was shot several times in her stomach area. The victim, said to be in her 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

Investigators said the woman had just finished her work shift at a Golden Corral and was walking to her car possibly with a friend when an unknown suspect shot her.

The suspect fled in a van or SUV westbound through the parking lot and has not been found, officials said.

A suspect description was not immediately available. Detectives said they believe the crime may be domestic because the victim's friend told authorities it seemed the suspect knew the woman.

Investigators were looking into surveillance video in the area as their investigation continued.

Golden Corral said the woman had worked for the company for only about three weeks and was a baker in training. The company expressed its sympathies to her family.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
