Cory Moss is the first woman to hold the office.
There was a special recognition ceremony held on Thursday.
The ceremony honored former Mayor Mark Radecki and welcomed Moss and Mayor Pro Tem Catherine Marcucci at the beginning of the city council meeting on Thursday.
