LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Demonstrators protested outside the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday to draw attention to the shooting death of a 16-year-old by deputies that the protesters believe was unjustified.
Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies shot and killed Anthony Webber, 16, earlier this month after responding to a report of a man pointing a gun at a motorist.

They said Webber matched the description of the suspect and they shot him when he turned toward them during a chase. Investigators did not recover a weapon at the scene, but suspect that someone in the crowd that gathered afterward may have taken the weapon if there was one.
Webber's family and a group called the Coalition for Community Control over the Police gathered near Staples Center as the national media and celebrities arrived to the NBA game.

Some protesters are calling for Los Angeles County District Attorney Jackie Lacey and state Attorney General Xavier Becerra to bring charges against the deputies involved.
"He had a nine-month old child that he left behind," said Keyanna Celina, one of the protest organizers. "And it's not fair that they came in, they just killed him and they go on about their business and there's no justice."
