DIAMOND BAR, Calif. (KABC) -- A police chase ended in a violent crash on the 60 Freeway in Diamond Bar early Friday morning.
California Highway Patrol officials responded to the scene at about 1 a.m. on the 60 East at the 57 Freeway, officials said.

Police were in pursuit of a motorcyclist going westbound on the eastbound 60 when the driver crashed head-on to one other vehicle near the Grand Avenue exit. The motorcyclist was thrown from his bike upon impact.
The motorcyclist and one other person were transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Two others suffered minor injuries.

Further details regarding the chase were not immediately known.
The crash shut down three lanes near Grand Avenue and the 57 Freeway, causing heavy traffic congestion for commuters in the Diamond Bar area.
