El Segundo's Little League World Series champion team is celebrated with hometown parade

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (KABC) -- It's been a whirlwind of excitement for the El Segundo Little League World Series champions, and now they've been honored one final celebration in their hometown.

The final celebration for the players was held Sunday with another parade through El Segundo.

Starting shortly after 12 p.m., the parade proceeded along Main Street from Imperial Highway to El Segundo Boulevard and will feature the players, coaches, a marching band, and cheerleaders.

A player recognition ceremony was held afterward on Stevenson Field, where the players were honored with keys to the city.

El Segundo won the championship on Aug. 27 after 12-year-old Louis Lappe hit a walk-off home run against Curacao.

"I knew they were gonna be supportive, but I didn't think they'd be this supportive," Louis said. "It's just really amazing."
