GARDENA, Calif. (KABC) -- The northbound 110 Freeway transition road to the westbound 91 Freeway is shut down in Gardena due to a fatal crash early Thursday, officials said.
Los Angeles Fire Department crews responded to the crash on the transition road around 3:35 a.m. A car was seen over the side of the freeway ramp as crews were extricating a body.

The age and gender of the victim were not known. It was unclear how many vehicles were involved in the collision.

The ramp was closed while crews investigated and cleaned up the scene.
According to Caltrans, the scene of the wreck was cleared around 7 a.m., but the ramp was expected to remain shut down until at least 2 p.m. for guardrail repair.
