The man was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Police told Eyewitness News officers are now looking for the driver, though a vehicle description was not immediately available. Investigators confirmed the driver is a woman.

"A dispute occurred prior to the accident happening," said LAPD Det. Daniel Ramirez, who said the investigation was still in its preliminary stages.

Meanwhile, Sal Sendik, who was gearing up for a run when the incident occurred, said people immediately began calling for help.
