Heavy equipment was sent to help with the clean-up and repairs. Video from the scene showed cars stuck in the mud.
At least two homes in the area had to be evacuated.
One neighbor says several elderly families live nearby and that neighbors noticed leaking water before Thanksgiving and tried to alert officials.
They believe the incident could've been prevented.

"We called it in. We called it in again as the water got stronger and stronger," said Maricruz Monreal, resident affected by the water main break. "It's just unfortunate because I honestly think this would've been avoided had they turned off the water days before.... Now we're here."
It's unclear how long the repairs will take.
The Red Cross was also called to the scene to assist.
