MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- If Monday's warm temperatures have you thinking about hitting the beach, officials are urging you to be cautious around the water.

A high surf warning was issued for beachgoers amid rough conditions.

Experienced surfers, however, were already flocking to the beach as the waves continued to grow.

Monday will likely see the highest surf conditions so far this winter.

That is what is being expected along the coast from Los Angeles to Orange County, into San Diego County. The advisory peaks Tuesday with 15-foot waves expected.

Although it may be welcome news to surfers, big waves aren't the only thing roiling the waters. Unusual currents will be spurred all along the coast that could include some south facing beaches along with the west facing ones.

The conditions will be extremely dangerous for swimmers, who are advised to stay out of the water.
